Those things finally left the road. I'm packing up now to leave.
Just keeping those of you updated on my situation.
If I find anything that might help anyone else take care of these things, I'll keep you posted.

Time
I've been here for nearly two days now. It's boring, but pretty safe. After rummaging about, I found a pistol in my grandmother's room. Some sort of revolver, along with bullets for it. Should come in handy.
Those walking corpses haven't left the highway yet, and I'm getting anxious. I think I actually saw more of them down there.
And I have to keep quiet. I don't want them to know I'm in here. For all they know, if they even know anything, this house is empty. And I intend to keep it that way.

Sleepless
Guh. 3:30 in the morning. Believe it or not, it's pretty hard to sleep when there are flesh-eating former humans wandering about. Oh well. I should be safe enough, at least for the night.
All the lights are off, all the windows are shut. There can't be any light leaking through the windows. I'm even huddled here with my laptop in the hallway, with the screen as dim as it can get, with all the doors to all the rooms shut to keep the light out. I figure if I do end up having to leave, I'll turn everything on. Crank the TV and stereos full volume, turn on every light, and finally, haul ass. Either make for a good diversion, or use up my grandma's electricity. Either way...
That does bring up an interesting point though. How long will electricity last? Do the people at the power plant even know what's going on? Or have they all been infected already? Maybe the plant's already been converted into a survival fort, and people living there are working together to keep electricity running for everyone else? Wishful thinking I know... I should really get some sleep.

Okay
Got to my grandma's house a while ago. No one's home. I've boarded up the downstairs doors and windows, but I don't know how much good that will do.
Is anyone out there going through this too? Anyone?
I managed to take out two of the things out there. Shotgun blast straight to the head, just like in the movies, seemed to do pretty good, went straight down. Also just like in the movies, they were a bitey bunch. Don't worry, I wasn't bitten. Think one managed to scratch me a bit. As soon as I got here I disinfected my arm and wrapped it up. I'm worried about what might happen if any of their nasty stagnant blood got in there. I'm gonna have to be super careful, should probably find a longer-ranged weapon.
Anyway, yeah, I donno how long I'm gonna stay here. I've got a clear view of the highway from the top floor here, probably gonna go over to the next town when it clears out. I just hope it hasn't spread over there by then...

Good. This site's still online.
Good to see there's still internet. I don't know what else to do.
I'm still at home. The doors and windows are locked, but I doubt they'll hold up for long. I've got to get out of here, and find somewhere safe. I doubt there's still any canned food at the store, but it'd still be worth checking when I get out.
Okay, hold on. I need to sort out my thoughts.
My name isn't important. I'm male, I'm at my dad's house in a small backwoods town in Tennessee, and there's a small swarm of what I can only call zombies outside my house. There's at least 5 of them right outside, but I can see more out my window, wandering around aimlessly. I can see plenty out wandering the highway from my back window. It's gonna be a bitch getting to the strip mall from here, but I don't have any canned food here.
Flipping through the TV, everything seems normal. No news networks, not even the local ones, are making any mention of these undead.
God. That sounds so retarded. But there's no other way I can put it. They're fucking rotting, with chunks missing from their arms or neck, their clothes are torn, and goddamn the stench.
There's no way this place is going to hold up for long. I'm grabbing my dad's shotgun and his car keys, and I'm going to my grandma's house. The swarm on the highway is too thick to risk going to the next town, and I don't know the back roads well enough to get there. Probably got the fuckers blocking the way there too, anyway.
Alright. It's time I get out there. If anyone finds this, please know I tried to survive. If this goes statewide, nationwide, or God forbid, worldwide, I hope I can help.
